Power rectifier diode in DO-5 package, for operating currents up to 80A. It allows to straighten an alternate sinusoidal signal by cutting the negative half-waves, thus obtaining a pulsating signal that is easy to filter and level. These power diodes are widely used in motors and devices where the currents become important.
